Hello valued reader,
Welcome to the first of many updates of the Maranatha Project. To find out more about us please visit the about us page by clicking here or navigating through the menu above.
The Maranatha project was desired, and thought up of, some many years ago by a church that was outgrowing it’s current premises. Since then, the idea, the goal, the dream has come miles closer and today we are well and truly on our way to achieving our dream of building a second church in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.
To start at the beginning, our church was growing and the building we were worshipping in became too small for our number. Soon after, some members had the desire to build a church and pledged their time and hard earned money to make that a reality.
Since then, a congregation has been worshipping in a rented hall in Sunbury and pulling together to raise money for the building. We have now paid off the land in Kalkallo (where the new building will be) and have planning permits approved.
Next step is to get the site cleaned up a little, get the engineering and mechanical consultants organised, get the building plans approved and to actually start the building.
As you all can imagine, to build a building of this calibre is not just a physical feat but also a financial one. Although we have managed to pay off the land and gain some small savings, there is still a huge amount of work to be done and a large bill to go with it. Please pray for us and if you feel it in your heart to help us along the way, you can always volunteer or show your support by donating towards our building.
At this moment in time, the property at Kalkallo is awaiting the go ahead from the council and to receive the building permits. A busy bee has been organised from the 1st of March 2015. The property is going to get a nice pick me up, as you can see in the pictures below, a very much needed one.
Stay tuned for further updates on the Maranatha Project!
