We recognize that when you entrust your teen to the Maranatha Project, you are placing them under our spiritual and physical care. That responsibility is not taken lightly. We implement rigorous safeguarding policies because children are image-bearers of God and a sacred trust (Matthew 18:6). Every policy below is non-negotiable and applies to every leader, volunteer, and student without exception.
1. The Two-Adult Rule No adult leader or volunteer will ever be alone with a minor in any setting—classroom, restroom, vehicle, or outreach event. If a student needs to speak privately with a leader about a sensitive matter, a second adult will always be present or within sight. This protects both the student and the leader from false accusations and ensures transparency in all interactions. Parents are always welcome to observe our gatherings unannounced.
2. Background Check Requirements Every adult who serves in any capacity with the Marantha Project - whether teaching, facilitating role-play, driving for outreach, or managing logistics—must complete a comprehensive background check before being approved. This includes criminal history screening and sex offender registry verification. Leaders are re-screened every three years.
3. Incident & Emergency Protocol We maintain a written, step-by-step emergency protocol for medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, missing students, and sensitive disclosures (such as abuse or self-harm). Key elements include:
Immediate Medical Response: First aid supplies are carried on every outreach deployment. For life-threatening emergencies, 911 is contacted immediately, and parents are notified as soon as medically practical.
Mandatory Reporting: If a student discloses suspected abuse, neglect, or self-harm, leaders are legally and morally obligated to report it to civil authorities and the student's parents within hours—not days.
Documentation: Every incident is recorded using a standardized Incident Report Form and reviewed by senior leadership.
This protocol is not public-facing, but any parent may request a full copy of our safety procedures by contacting the Ministry Director directly at angiefaut@gmail.com or 701-880-0731.
4. Ongoing Training & Accountability Leaders attend mandatory child protection training annually. We hold debrief meetings after every gathering and outreach event to review what went well, what needs correction, and how we can better steward the students under our care. If a leader ever violates these safeguarding standards—regardless of intent—they are immediately removed from service pending investigation.
Our Guarantee to You: We will never compromise your child's safety for the sake of convenience, speed, or ministry growth. If you have concerns, questions, or notice anything unusual, please contact us immediately. Your vigilance is a gift to this ministry, and we welcome it.
We take our theological convictions seriously because we believe that what you believe about God shapes how you live, love, and raise your children. The Anchor Group is built on historic, biblical Christianity—the same faith handed down through the centuries and anchored in the authority of Scripture.
What We Teach:
The Bible is God's Word. We believe Scripture is inspired, trustworthy, and the final authority for faith and practice. We do not edit it to fit the culture; we submit to it.
The Gospel is the power of salvation. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not by human effort, moral performance, or religious ritual.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived the perfect life we could not live, died the death we deserved to die, and rose bodily from the grave to secure our justification and eternal hope.
All people are sinners in need of a Savior. We teach that humanity is spiritually dead apart from Christ, and that repentance and faith are the only response that leads to life.
Truth matters. We hold firmly to biblical teaching on the sanctity of life, the goodness of God's design for sex and marriage, and the call to holy living. We do not use grace as an excuse to compromise on sin; we call for genuine repentance and transformation.
Where We Allow Liberty: On matters where faithful Christians have historically disagreed—such as the mode and timing of baptism, eschatology, spiritual gifts, or church government—we teach with conviction while respecting the conscience of others. We focus on the essentials and extend grace on the non-essentials.
Honoring Your Role as Parent: We believe that you are your child's primary disciple-maker (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). We are not a substitute for your family's spiritual formation; we are a partner in it. Our goal is to reinforce what you are already building at home and in your local church, not to undermine or override it.
We will never counsel your child without your knowledge in matters of serious concern.
We encourage students to bring what they learn back to you and to discuss it at the dinner table.
We require parental consent for outreach deployments and medical decisions.
We welcome your questions, your feedback, and your involvement.
You know your child better than anyone. If something we teach concerns you, please reach out directly. We would rather have a ten-minute conversation with you than lose a minute of your trust.
Here is the copy for the "Logistics & Costs" section of your For Parents & Guardians page. It is designed to be transparent, pastoral, and clear—so parents can make an informed decision without surprises.
We believe in full transparency with the families who entrust their students to our ministry. Below is a clear breakdown of what your student's participation involves and what it costs.
What Is Included in the Anchor Group Fee?
The Student Anchor Packet Fee covers all printed materials and supplies for the 10-week training cycle:
Printed Ministry Covenant & 10-Week Syllabus
Student tracking log and weekly worksheets
Role-play scenario scripts and practice guides
Anchor Group folder for holding materials
Outreach supplies (Gospel tracts, field kit materials, clipboards)
Snacks and refreshments for weekly gatherings
Printed incident reports and safety documentation
Estimated Packet Fee: $35 per student (one-time, due at Preview Night or Week 1)
Outreach & Local Deployment Costs
Our local outreach events (Weeks 9–10) are designed to be low-cost and high-impact. We use community spaces like parks, church parking lots, and public areas where permitted. The cost of transportation to these events is covered by parents (either drop-off/pick-up or carpool arrangements). We do not charge a per-event fee.
Estimated Additional Cost: $0–$15 (varies based on your student's transportation arrangements)
Short-Term Mission Trip (Optional)
After Anchor Group concludes, we plan 1–2 short-term mission trips per year (local/regional, typically 2–4 days) for students who have completed the pathway and demonstrated faithfulness. These are optional and not required to complete the Anchor Group, but they are highly encouraged for students moving into Stages 3 & 4 of the Discipleship Pathway.
Estimated Trip Cost: $150–$300 per trip (covers lodging, transportation, meals, and partner ministry donations)
We will fundraise as a team to offset these costs whenever possible.
Payment Options & Policies
Payment Methods: Cash, check (made out to Doxa Theos), or online payment via [Square/PayPal/Stripe/Venmo].
Payment Plans: If the packet fee is a hardship, we will work with you confidentially to arrange a payment plan. No student will be turned away for lack of funds.
Scholarship Fund: We maintain a small scholarship fund through church donations and community support. If you need assistance, email us at angiefaut@gmail.com and a leader will reach out to you directly. Your privacy will be fully honored.
Refund Policy: Full refund available before Week 2 if your student determines the Anchor Group is not a fit. After Week 2, fees are non-refundable (materials have been distributed), but we are happy to work with families on future groups.
What Is NOT Included
Regular church membership or program fees (those are separate and handled by your local church)
Personal Bible purchase (we recommend each student bring their own Bible—ESV or NIV preferred)
Transportation to/from weekly gatherings (parents arrange this)
A Note on Finances
We recognize that every family's financial picture is different. Our desire is that no student who desires to grow in the faith and be equipped for mission would be stopped by a $35 fee. If you are unsure about costs, please reach out to us before you register. We would rather have an honest conversation up front than have a student sit on the sidelines because of an unspoken burden.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." — 1 Peter 4:10
